The Goddess Europa 2022 silver coin is minted by the Bulmint Mint for the country of Tokelau. Tokelau is a small group of islands in the South Pacific dependent on New Zealand.

Front

On the front side you can see the king's daughter Europa as she rides a bull (Zeus) along the beach as the sun rises. The design of this coin was inspired by Greek mythology. Zeus was known to have a hard time keeping away from women. He also could´t stay away from the king's daughter Europe. In order to avoid a possible escapade with his wife Hera, Zeus had to come up with something. He turned into a white bull and hid among a herd that his messenger Hermes was driving near Europa. When the opportunity arose, Zeus seized it and kidnapped Europa. He swam with her across the sea to Crete, where he transformed back. Zeus and Europa had several children and she is known as the queen of Crete.
