The gold coin Australian Kangaroo, also called Kangaroo or Nugget in Germany, has been minted by the Perth Mint since 1987. In the beginning, the coin was called Australian Nugget. Officially since 2008, the coin is called Australian Kangaroo.

Front

The motif side shows a new kangaroo motif every year. Next to the motif, the year of minting, the fineness "9999 gold" and the denomination "¼ OZ" are embossed. Clearly legible on the left side of the coin is the "P" for the mint Perth Mint.

The reverse of the Kangaroo gold coin in all denominations features a portrait of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, based on a design by artist Ian Rank Broadley, and his initials "IRB". In addition to the words "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA", the corresponding face value of the gold coin is also depicted.
