    As the national figure of Great Britain, Britannia stands for wisdom and community. It is a well-known and widespread symbol of naval power and the defense of Great Britain. It is therefore not surprising that the Royal Mint Ltd. which Britannia has chosen as the motif for a gold coin since 1987. Since 2020, the Royal Mint Ltd. The Britannia coin has been further developed and new security features have been incorporated that make it even more difficult to make counterfeits of this coin.     The special thing about the Britannia coin is that it has new security features. This additional anti-counterfeit protection is as follows:

    On the lower left there is a circle with ridged contents. Depending on which perspective it is viewed from, either a padlock or a trident can be seen.

    The background of the Britannia is rippled like waves.

    Between the outer circle and the wave-like background you can see a very small printed Latin lettering. This lettering reads "DECUS ET TUTAMEN", which translates to "GLORY AND DEFENSE".

    Britannia's shield is now also fluted.

    The motif of Britannia on the motif side of the gold coins of the same name means the personification of the British Isles. From 1987 to 1996, the same Britannia motif was always depicted on the gold coins of the same name. This consists of the standing Britannia with a trident, shield and helmet. The motifs are always framed by a jagged edge. In the edge inscription you can see the name "BRITANNIA", the year of minting "2021", fine weight and fineness "1oz 999.9 FINE GOLD". Below the Briannia, if you look closer, you can see the name "NATHAN". This is the name of the artist Philip Nathan, who designed the motif of this coin in 1987.
